Ethiopian athlete Genzebe Dibaba pulled out of the 5,000m after falling sick at the World championships. The Ethiopian delegation did not reveal what the 26-year-old is suffering from after she missed the 5,000m heats. The 2015 World champion over the 1,500m was expected to run the middle and long distance double in the British capital. Kenya’s Hellen Obiri is also a favourite for gold as the 2017 World leader. Ethiopians concede they would have liked to have all four members present for Sunday’s final – their team is still a strong favourite with Almaz Ayana looking to defend her title.
