This week Africa witnessed a historic moment when Ethiopia chose its first woman president. President Sahle-Work Zewde’s election to the ceremonial position comes a week after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appointed a cabinet with half the posts taken up by women. After being sworn in, Sahle-Work promised to work hard to make gender equality a reality in Ethiopia. CGTN went to Ghana and asked the people how they felt about the historic moment.
