Indigenous people celebrate the year 2968 in Algeria

For many people in the world, New Year celebrations are over. However, for the Berbers – who are an indigenous people in north Africa – New Year’s celebration have just begun. Berbers around Algeria held various events to celebrate The Yennayer – or Berber New Year’s Day. While the rest of the world ushered in the year 2018, the Berber’s ushered in the year 2968.
