– The body of Robert Mugabe arrived in Harare overnight. Zimbabwe’s first president died last week in Singapore at the age of 95. His body will lie in state until Saturday.
– South Africa and five other Southern African countries have concluded a new trade agreement with Britain. The new agreement will govern a bilateral trading relationship between the six countries and Britain after the latter leaves the EU without an agreement or “no-deal Brexit”.
– Scientists announced Wednesday they have succeeded in creating two embryos of the near-extinct northern white rhino as part of an international effort to save the species, which is down to just two animals worldwide, both of them femal.
