Political standoff in Kenya divides country

The political standoff in Kenya between President Uhuru Kenyatta and self-declared peoples’ president Raila Odinga has split the country. While Odinga’s swearing-in ceremony on January 30th was symbolic, activists and analysts fear the government’s heavy-handed response is moving the country toward authoritarian rule. A recently deported opposition official spoke with VOA on how he feels about the current situation. VOA’s Daniel Schearf explains the political situation in Kenya.
