In South Sudan, the African Union body mandated to monitor the implementation of South Sudan’s peace deal urges all armed groups in South Sudan to declare and commit to a ceasefire to help push forward the implementation of the 2015 peace agreement. The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission is also urging the unity government in Juba to engage in peace talks with other armed groups not included in the 2015 peace deal. Patrick Oyet sought to find out more about the Commissions position, from its Deputy Chair Augustino Njoroge.
