The commemoration of Africa Day looks at the successes and challanges of the continent

Today marks the international Africa day. It’s an annual commemoration of the foundation of the organization of African Unity–back in May 1963–which later evolved into the African Union. The day is celebrated in various countries on the African continent and across the globe. It’s a symbol of Africa’s independence, freedom and liberation from colonial imperialists.The theme of this year’s celebrations is finding durable solutions to displacement in Africa.
