The first digital court in East Africa

Uganda has introduced a digital court system at its maximum correctional institution. The system, which is the first of its kind in East Africa will help ease access to justice. According to the country’s Judiciary there are over 155,000 pending cases in the court system. To reduce delays in prosecution, inmates will now make a plea at the prison facility before going to trial. CGTN’S Hillary Ayesiga reports
