Tourists visit Western Cape for whale watching each year

South Africa’s annual whale season is in full swing. Hundreds of Southern Right whales arrive in the coastal town of Hermanus in the Western Cape,after a long and arduous journey from the icy waters of Antarctica. They come there to give birth as well as mate, before taking the long trek back to the Sub-Antarctic. This year, whale watching enthusiasts were in for a treat because unusually a record number of whales paid the countries coastline a visit. CGTN’s Travers Andrews has this report.
