With Joe Biden newly installed as the 46th U.S. president, some Africans say they anticipate warmer ties between their continent and America. Biden has already fulfilled his pledge to roll back his predecessor’s travel ban on people from Muslim-majority countries – which he did on his first day in office.
Still others dismissed Biden’s inauguration as a non-event for Africa; they expect the new president will be preoccupied with COVID-19 and domestic challenges. Here’s more of their reaction to the new U.S. president.
