TALK AFRICA: African to lead World Trade Organization

The 164 members of the World Trade Organization officially selected Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as its seventh director-general. The Nigerian economist and former finance minister makes history as she becomes the first woman and the first African to lead the WTO.
Dr Okonjo-Iweala takes the helm at the global trade body at a particularly difficult time for the world’s health & economy, with the #COVID19 pandemic having triggered barriers to the international free flow of goods and services.
